ThreeOhFourParticipantHey there 🙂
I’ve become very fond of this program and use it for a number of things, and recommend it to friends who need something similar. One friend needed to do a low res lava lamp animation, so I created a quick sample effect to demonstrate the program to him – but for some reason I cannot seem to export it. There’s a big delay before the particles show up, I wonder if this has anything to do with it?
In any case, I’ve never had a problem exporting in the past, so I find myself really confused as to the reason here. Any help you could share would be much appreciated!
Here’s the .eff file:

imported_peterigzParticipantHi,I can’t seem to open that effect it seems to be damaged. Anyhow you could try using the frame offset field in the animation controls to start the animation a few frames in if the particles take some time to appear.
Hope that helps!

KastenessenParticipantHi, my names Jay, Im an aspiring Indie developer. I have been looking around for a good Effect maker and this one I quite like, it would really complement the tools I already have.
Though, unfortunately, even tho I have tried everything apart from getting an older version of it. I cannot export anything. either from the animation properties where the exporter is or any other methods. Is this a glitch in v2.6 only? Do others have this problem? Is it because its a trail? You say I can at least export up to 4 frames in the trial and have a few export options. But when I go there, the selection box is greyed out and I cannot do anything with it. I have tried many things but cannot work it out. Is it a glitch or is it just me??
I like it a lot but this ‘glitch’ is stopping me from buying it. I need something that produces results that are saveable in png at least, or something else that I can use other programs to ‘clean up’.
If you can maybe help me out with this, I will buy a license very happily and will start employing these cool effect creations in my games creation processes. As this is the best particle program I can find. Otherwise I will just have to spend more money on putting some of my peeps to work on one of our own, which probably wont be as good. I would like to support your software, but only If I can use it.
Thank you.

imported_peterigzParticipantHi, you should be able to export 4 frames without any problems with the current version, this is the first I’ve heard of the problem.
When you say the selection is greyed out, where do you mean?
In order to export to PNG you have to do it under Animation Properties under the edit menu, then you click on the record icon in the bottom right of that dialog box. Is this where you have gone?
More details on exporting a sprite sheet can be found here: http://www.rigzsoft.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=17:animation-properties&catid=7:editor-help&Itemid=10
Let me know how you get on 🙂

KastenessenParticipantHey,
My bad, I worked it out. Didn’t read the part where I have to press record. It works fine now and is awsome.
I understand it all now. Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
Its a great 2d Effect creator.I’m going to buy it right now.
Thank you,

ShinugamiParticipantI’m having difficulty exporting an animation. When I export an explosion which has typical fire colors, the png files that it is saved as all contain blue colors. Am I missing something?
Update:
I saved it as a sprite sheet instead of individual images and the color is correct…I’ll tinker with it some more….Yeah, if I do separate images then they are blue again.December 17, 2013 at 9:06 am #5061
peterigzKeymasterInteresting, that obviously shouldn’t be happening 🙂
I’ll take a look at that and see what’s going on.

MalvekaParticipantHi,
I’ve recently started using TimeLineFX and am finding it to be quite useful, filling a definite need for the game I currently have under development. Thanks for creating and maintaining this tool!
I have just noticed, however, that I am experiencing the “orange exports to blue” issue reported above. I get this issue when saving my animation as a sprite sheet. I’m using version 1.28. I downloaded the latest version for Mac from this site, which purports to 1.29 (with a possible fix for this issue). When I install it, however, TPTEditor->About tells me it’s still version 1.28.
Please advise.
Cheers,
James -
