TMKParticipantHi,
I love TimelineFX, and have used it on Fantastic Farm, and I couldn’t imagine doing particles without it now π
I was just wondering, have you had a chance to look at the new Blitz Research language Monkey? It’s might be more tricky to get going there though, but I would love to see TimelineFX working on Monkey π

imported_peterigzParticipantYes, I’m looking forward to converting TimelineFX to monkey, I think there could be a great opportunity there. Unfortunately I missed out on the beta but I’ll be jumping on it as soon as it comes out π
I’d imagine they’d be a few hurdles to jump initially but hopefully they can be overcome.

TMKParticipantAh, awesome! Monkey looks very interesting and promising, and being free & available to all, there definitely will be a big interest for a great particle engine like yours π

imported_peterigzParticipantWell, I’m guessing that TFX will need to use the mojo graphics module which I don’t think will be free, so we’ll have to see, but either way it will be interesting. I will probably try to write it so that the rendering side can be separated easily so people can plug in their own render routines for it, but we’ll see π

TMKParticipantYep, probably many will buy the mojo graphics library, at least the ones who are used to BlitzMax and wants to support them π

nugobParticipantHi,
TimelineFX looks fantastic! I’m just testing the demo but I’m certain I’ll buy this in the next couple of days.
Is there any update on a Monkey module? Is there anything under development? I would be very keen to use this.
Cheers!

imported_peterigzParticipantAt the moment I’m still undecided as to where I’m taking TimelineFX next, so i’m really not sure. Monkey seems to be maturing nicely, and mobile devices do seem like a good choice to target a 2d effects engine… but we’ll see π

nugobParticipantThanks for your post, Peter. Either way, I purchased the TimelineFX editor and my very first quick test already added a very nice effect to my project. I will use this software a lot, that’s for sure.
Needless to say I would be in favour of a TimelineFX module port to Monkey – just in case that would swing your undecidedness a tiny little bit more in that direction π

daveParticipanthi i saw you post in the monkey forum and was just wondering if you had any idea on how long a module would take to create as i would love to use this as any particle effects i create are very amateurish by comparison.I could and have used your sprite stips in my games but on some phones memory is limited and a module would be far better.Im still about 3 months of finishing a new game.I can totally respect your a busy person and probably have other commitments but any info would be welcome thanks.

imported_peterigzParticipantsorry for the delay in replying to this post. Not sure how long it will take depends on how many issues I run into, had a little set back because I went down with tonsillitis too so haven’t done much the last couple of weeks, but onwards and upwards! π

XaronParticipantAny news on that? π Would LOVE to use it for my projects!
