Hello,
I started learning how to use the TimelineFX software a few days ago, and I’ve run into my first problem that I do not know how to solve.
I added a pulsing flare to the starting end of a laser. Right now the two other emitters, a laser line and plume, overlap the pulsing flare, and all three are visible at the start of the laser.
I’d like to cover up the beginning of the laser line and plume with the pulsing flare so you can only see that emitter. I adjusted the layers for each of the three emitters in the Particle tab, but nothing changed. All three emitters are still visible.
The only pseudo fix I found was to increase the Amount of the Pulsing Flare until it overwhelms the other two emitters so they cannot be seen.
How can I fix this issue?
Thank you
It should be that any emitter on layer 0 is drawn first and emitters on layer 1 will be drawn on top and so on with higher layers. Bear in mind though that depending on the transparency/alpha settings of the emitter being drawn on the higher layer will have an effect on how much the underlying emitters show through, expecially with additive blendmode.
You could also try decreasing the level of opacity for the emitters on the lower layers for the start of the particles life and fade them in so they’re not so prominent when they initially spawn.
Thank you for the quick response. This is very helpful.
